Montréal, November 23, 2009—The Ville de Montréal, through its Fashion Bureau, is launching a competition to mark the Shanghai World Expo from May 1 to October 31, 2010. The Shanghai 2010 Competition, aimed at Montréal fashion designers, is a two-stage competition, with payment for concept.
About the Shanghai 2010 competition
More than 200 participants from various countries will be attending the Shanghai World Expo 2010, whose theme is “Better City, Better Life”. The Ville de Montréal was chosen to exhibit in the Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA). This part of the fair, with 50 cities represented, will not only present original practices designed to enhance quality of life in urban settings, but will also serve as a platform for the participant cities to share urban planning experiences.
The Ville de Montréal wishes to provide a uniform for its guides and kiosk attendants at Expo Shanghai. The uniform must symbolize Montréal’s creativity and innovation capacity, and be consistent with the design theme of the stand. For more information, please see the Competition Specifications Handbook (in French).
